Risk & Controls Monitoring System
TerraNua has implemented a "Risk and Control Monitoring System" (RCMS) for a large compliance office, allowing consistent gathering of metrics related to risk management.
The Risk and Controls Monitoring System is predominantly used to monitor the status of key business risk and compliance controls with respect to SEC regulations 38a-1 and 206(4)-7, but can be adapted to match any organization's risk and control environment. RCMS makes it easier to gather data for, and report on, Key Risk Indicators (KRI's) to help business and compliance monitor the effectiveness of controls.
The system is based on a flexible web-based architecture with an enterprise level database model to collect information about key risk measures. In addition, a web accessible reporting dashboard is used to monitor risks and controls and conduct oversight of the Key Risk Indicators stored in the database.
RCMS provides a platform for broader risk reporting and control monitoring. It allows for integration of key risk indicators with business lines at a future date. The platform is scalable to allow for the monitoring and capture process to assist in detecting and correcting exceptions. The reporting dashboard helps to provide oversight for multiple types of monitoring programmes.
